Who We Treat

At TrustPoint Brain Center, we provide programming for children and adolescents ages 10-17 and adults age 18 and older.

Our program offers services for people who have been diagnosed with mental health concerns such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Care is individualized, and many of the people who come to our Murfreesboro center are suffering from more than one of these conditions at the same time.

Stand-Alone Outpatient Program

TrustPoint Brain Center is a stand-alone program, which means that a person can begin care here without first completing another level of care. People take part on an outpatient basis, attending scheduled appointments while continuing to live at home and keeping up with their daily routines. The frequency of each person’s appointments is based on their unique needs and individualized plan of care

Medication Management & Psychiatric Care

Medication management services at our center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, are overseen by psychiatrists and nurse practitioners. These providers evaluate each person, prescribe and adjust medications when appropriate, and monitor how well a given approach is working over time.

Individuals who are prescribed controlled substances are typically seen once a month, while those who are not may meet with their prescriber less often.

Individual & Family Therapy - Coming soon!

Coming soon

Therapy is led by licensed therapists, and both individual and family sessions are available. These therapy sessions are scheduled on a basis that may range from weekly to monthly depending on what each person needs at any given point.

Individual therapy provides people with focused, one-on-one time with a therapist, while family therapy gives family members an opportunity to learn how to help their loved one and find ways to provide support.

The care we provide at our Murfreesboro center draws on evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)-informed interventions, and motivational interviewing. We also offer psychoeducation and supportive therapy, and we help individuals learn and practice relapse prevention strategies. Depending on the person, we may also encourage participation in 12-Step programs or other peer support and community recovery resources when clinically appropriate.

On-Site Genetic Testing

At TrustPoint Brain Center, we offer on-site genetic testing through GeneSight®, a pharmacogenomic test that helps guide medication decisions.

The process involves a clinician swabbing the inside of each cheek, and the sample is analyzed to show how a person’s genes may affect the way their body responds to certain psychiatric medications.

The results are broken into groups, which include those a person can take as prescribed, those that may call for closer attention, and those that may be more likely to cause difficulties based on the person’s genetic makeup.

For example, the report can note when a medication might need to be administered at a lower dose, when it may carry a higher risk for side effects, or when it may be less effective for a particular person. This gives clinicians additional insight and helps them choose medications with greater confidence.

Genetic testing does not replace clinical judgment; it is simply one more resource that supports the personalized care each person receives at TrustPoint Brain Center.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

We provide transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which is a noninvasive treatment option that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in areas of the brain associated with mood. TMS is delivered as a course of approximately 36 sessions, followed by monthly maintenance sessions for people who can benefit from ongoing support.

TMS is most often recommended for patients whose symptoms have not improved with other types of interventions.
