Our Services

When the symptoms of a severe psychiatric illness are impacting a person’s life, acute services are often warranted so as to alleviate the psychological distress and turmoil that is preventing that individual from living a satisfying existence. When in such a circumstance, men and women aged 18 and older can benefit from TrustPoint’s Adult Behavioral Health Unit. This unit, which specializes in treating those grappling with thought disorders and other co-occurring mental disorders, is equipped to meet the unique treatment needs of all who require this type of care.

Among the types of mental health concerns treated within this unit, the following are the most common:

  • Schizophrenia
  • Schizoaffective disorder
  • Delusional disorder
  • Psychosis

What to Expect

Furthermore, so as to ensure that adults receive this care in an immediate fashion, TrustPoint offers assessments for the Adult Behavioral Health Unit 24 hours a day, 7 day a week. The Access Intake Team at TrustPoint or the Access Intake Team at St. Thomas Rutherford Emergency Department can determine if this type of psychiatric treatment is necessary and appropriate to alleviate the symptoms experienced by an individual. When deemed clinically needed, a person can also be admitted to this level of care that same day.

Once admitted to the Adult Behavioral Health Unit, men and women can expect to participate and benefit from the following treatment methods:

  • Individual therapy sessions are offered on an as-needed basis and are conducted by social workers.
  • Family therapy sessions may be incorporated into a patient’s treatment when it is considered necessary to the individual’s healing process.
  • Group therapy sessions, which are led by TrustPoint staff, enable patients to gain information, insight, support, and encouragement from others who have endured and overcome similar challenges.
  • Medication management services are featured on this unit so that men and women have access to experienced psychiatrists who can recommend and prescribe medication when it is needed.

Other methods of care offered within TrustPoint’s psychiatric services may be implemented into a patient’s treatment so that the most favorable treatment outcomes result.

I wanted to say how AMAZING TrustPoint was. My doctor was fantastic, he not only was concerned for me but also my wife and daughter. My social worker was so easy to talk to and was so caring. Thank you all for being so supportive and kind in our time of turmoil.
